Best Ground Counters for Dark Templars – Shokz Starcraft 2 How to Counter Dark Templars

The problem with going head-to-head against the Protoss using Terran is that you will need a smart tactical placement to deal with the quality of the Protoss units. While, against the Zerg, the main plan of attack is to overwhelm you with a much larger force of relatively weak units, in Protoss, they may not attack you en masse, but each unit is difficult to defeat.

One of the most powerful Protoss units you can take on, if your enemy knows how to use them, is the Dark Templar. The Dark Tempars’ greatest threat is that they are permanently hidden. You definitely don’t want them near your SCVs. Of course, if one of them has already gotten close to your MCS, then you’re already in serious trouble.

When it comes to Protoss Dark Templars, their first problem is getting over their cover-up. At your base, do this by building a formidable Terran Missile Turret perimeter. However, make sure you have your area of effect ordered correctly. You don’t want one to sneak into your defense.

However, the best way to deal with them is to get rid of them while heading to your base. For this, you should certainly have a Raven flying. Ground crows are good at exploring the map, but they’re even better at exposing hidden enemy units. So keep some of them hanging around. However, ravens do not have attack capabilities, so you will still have to field some attackers. The Dark Templars are melee fighters and the least painful way to kill them is to send some ground attackers against them. Be careful though, this strategy is only viable if there are no capable antiaircraft units traveling with the Dark Templars.

Another way to deal with them is by using the EMP Round of a Terran Ghost. An EMP Round not only reveals them, but also removes their shield. With shields down, any ground unit can attack them quickly. The ghost’s EMP is also an area of effect attack. This means that it can affect multiple units within a given area, making it very useful not only as a deterrent to the Dark Templars, but also as a deterrent to most other Protoss units, as they rely on large measure of shields.

One by one, they are not that hard. If you suspect this Templar attack, you can simply use a scan of your Orbital Command to reveal the unit. Prepare to move quickly in your attack units, although the scan effect usually ends quite quickly.
