The party is open to everyone from 11 in the morning and continues until the night. It’s so nice to be able to spend the day in a real Spanish environment. There are usually a few Brits there for part of the day, but mostly Spanish families enjoying their picnic-style lunch. There is also a huge delicious paella free for all and it is absolutely delicious. Some of the locals wear their national dress, also the horsemen trot their beautiful horses around the grounds in preparation for the procession where they follow the statue of the Virgin through the fields behind the much photographed old church of La Marquesa.

There is a bar and BBQ, however most people grab their coolers with their own food and drinks, sit at one of the tables and settle in for the rest of the day while listening to the DJ playing a selection of music. during the afternoon and the live band at night. It is very fun to dance with the local people and try to converse with them in our poor Spanish.
