Cheerleading teams always do well with a car wash fundraiser

Cheerleading teams have many advantages that other sports just don’t enjoy. I guess it goes without saying, especially in high school, but I would tell you that the same applies to those in college; let me explain and give you a real life example here, if possible.

Over the years, I have participated in and planned many car wash fundraisers. He started in high school when he was president of many clubs on campus and also president of the senior class. One thing we always needed most in our clubs and organizations was money – there was never enough for our insatiable thirst for great events. In those days I had a car wash, boat and airplane business, mobile car wash and we used the equipment to clean cars at those fundraisers. Eventually, we got really good at organizing them and making a decent amount of money.

Still, we were never able to win as much as the cheer squad for obvious reasons. First they could sell us 3: 1 on car wash fundraising tickets before the sale and on the day of the event they would pull cars off the street in droves with a simple “Cheerleader Car Wash” sign and a couple of girls on the corner in bathing suits. Hey, that’s not fair, but that’s life. Yes, a clear advantage. It goes without saying that if you are a parent cheerleader or student advisor and your team is in need of money, such a fundraiser is fairly easy to do and well suited for the summer months.

The other day, I was talking to a mom at Starbucks who had a daughter who made the cheerleading squad in high school over the next calendar year. Her sister was a cheerleader a few years ago at the same school and the mother remembered how expensive it was for cheer camp, competitions, uniforms, and travel expenses, and the mother really didn’t want to go through that again, nor did she . she wants to be assigned the duty in “another damn bake sale” I think was her exact words. I explained the car wash fundraising strategy and how they could make pre-sale tickets, and how to use a busy corner to organize the effort.

She remembered doing at least one such fundraiser a few years ago and thought it was fun, but said she remembered getting sunburned, and I explained with proper planning that no one has to get burned and that her squad daughter could make the money to make it so. Desperately needed. Consider all of this and think about it.
