Comparing the Sony Xperia Sola and the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2

In March 2012, Sony announced one of its latest Sony Xperia phones, the Xperia Sola. In February 2012, Samsung announced the latest member of the Galaxy and the sequel to its mid-range phone, the Galaxy Ace. In this article I will talk about these two promising new Android phones, the Sony Xperia Sola and the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. I will start my comparison note with the Sony Xperia Sola followed by the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. Read on!

Let’s talk about display screens and how these two phones stack up against each other. The Xperia Sola packs a 3.7″ capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and a pixel density of 265 ppi. It comes with a state-of-the-art technology called “Floating Touch”. On the other hand, the Galaxy Ace 2 includes a 3.8″ PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 246 ppi. This phone may not have the floating touch, but it does come with the TouchWiz version 3.0 user interface. When it comes to packing the bigger screen, I give Sony a good point. But when it comes to packing the phone with more screen resolution and higher pixel density, I give Sony a good point as well. I guess they are pretty even when it comes to this category.

Now let’s move on to processors and memory capacity. Sony packed its phone with a dual-core processor running at a speed of 1GHz. It also comes with 8GB of memory storage space (with only 5GB user accessible). You will also get 512MB of RAM in this. There is also a microSD card slot on this phone for more storage capacity. Samsung, on the other hand, packed its phone with the same dual-core processor, but it only runs at a speed of 800 MHz. It comes with 4 GB of storage space and 768 MB of RAM. You will also add more memory and up to 32 GB in this phone through its microSD card slot.

Now let’s talk about your operating system. Sony packed its phone with Android Gingerbread, but it may be upgraded to the latest iteration of Android in the near future. On the other hand, Samsung packed its phone with the same Android Gingerbread for its operating system. But there is no update planned for this phone. When it comes to OS, both are the same. But this case will not be for long because Sony planned an update for its operating system in the near future.

As you can see, both are winners. They may have minor differences, but both are winners.

This is my short comparison note on the Sony Xperia Sola and the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.
