The other night I was going to a party with some friends. Turning the ripe age of 30 2 years ago, we don’t go to many parties anymore. Usually it’s a bar or some people hanging out at a friend’s house, you know: most friends are married, kids and all that good stuff is pretty low key.

I decided I was going to text some friends I hadn’t seen in a while. As I was adding friends to the list, I noticed that there were quite a few girls I hadn’t talked to in a few weeks and even months. These were girls numbers I got when I was out and online too So I decided:

“What the heck, I’ll add these girls to the text message list too.”

I kept it the same for them as it was for my friends. It was “Hey, what’s up… I haven’t seen you in a while, but my friend John is throwing an amazing housewarming party on Saturday. It’s $5 a head, we’re kicking it the old fashioned way, You know! PS my friend Tammy is bringing her world famous jello shots so it’s going to get a little out of hand, get ready! Text me for info.”

My phone started vibrating like crazy. Some got in and some couldn’t make it and some weren’t sure if they could make it or not, great. This is all predictable, right?

But this is what surprised me!

More than half of the girls I haven’t texted or called in the last few weeks responded with, “Who is that?”

They had deleted my number from their phone. So the messages would come and go as I remembered them, but they had no idea who I was. This gave me a huge advantage!

People delete numbers from their phones after a while. We don’t know when we’re going to be wiped out in their purge of numbers. We do it all the time and the hot girls do it all the time too. These girls may have been at a different point in their lives months ago, so I won’t take it personally.
