Improved hair loss with scalp massage

Scalp massage as hair loss prevention has been used throughout history by many different cultures. Massaging the scalp should be a part of every hair loss regimen.

One of the most obvious benefits of scalp massage is increased circulation. The scalp, being a limb, is one of the most difficult places for blood to flow. The increased blood flow helps nourish the follicle. The scalp relies on blood flow to bring oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles.

Stress causes tightness in the scalp, which restricts blood flow and can lead to hair loss. Scalp massage restores flexibility and relieves tension, helping to create an ideal environment for new hair growth.

Massaging the scalp also helps loosen and remove dead skin cells and excess sebum on the scalp, which can hinder new hair growth. Scalp massage helps distribute the hair’s natural oils to protect and condition the hair.

The benefits of scalp massage go beyond the prevention of hair loss. Seventy percent of our nervous system is in the head. Scalp massage activates neural pathways to the brain and stimulates unused brain cells. On top of that, scalp massage feels good! It is nourishing and relaxing for the whole body.

Scalp massage can also include the face and neck. You can do it yourself or have someone do it for you. Slide your fingertips under your hair and over your scalp. Use your fingertips. Use gentle circular motions to stimulate the entire scalp.

Below are several variations of scalp massage to try.

HAIR SHOOTING MASSAGE

Slide your fingers under the scalp. Grab the hair close to the scalp. Sweater gently. Relax your grip and then pull again. Do this 3 times and then continue. Repeat over entire scalp. This is stimulating to the scalp and feels wonderful, especially if someone else is doing it for you!

INDONESIAN SCALP MASSAGE

Stand with your feet apart. Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply. Gently lean forward from the waist, curving your spine until your head is just below your waist. Keep your legs straight. Gently touch the entire scalp with your knuckles for 30 seconds. Slowly raise your body and repeat in an upright position.

ORIENTAL SCALP TAPPING MASSAGE

Place your fingers in the center of the base of the skull and start tapping about 30 times. Move towards the ears and continue hitting. Then return to the center of the skull, a little higher up, and repeat the process in this way until the entire scalp is hit.

THREADING WITH BRUSH

Gently patting your scalp with a boar bristle brush is an easy way to provide energy and circulation to your scalp.

AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE

Adding essential oils or nourishing herbal oils can increase the effectiveness of scalp massage. Rub a small amount of the prepared formula on your fingertips. Place fingertips under hair, directly on scalp, and massage in circular motions. Continue until the scalp has been massaged, paying particular attention to any areas of thinning.

For more severe hair loss conditions, a more potent essential oil formula can be used to effectively stimulate new hair growth and minimize future hair loss.

Scalp massage is just one of many natural solutions for hair loss. The combination of various natural therapies can have a synergistic effect, producing faster and more dramatic results.

Anytime a hair loss condition persists, it is important to determine the cause and type of hair loss and ensure it is not related to a medical condition.
