Is search engine optimization a big mystery for blog publishers?

Search engine optimization has become a common phenomenon for all bloggers today. A decade ago, people may not have even heard of it. But things have changed and bloggers have started to represent a significant part of the web. Some people waste them, but others, knowing their full potential, use them the way they are meant to be. Bloggers have started to spend most of their time reading SEO threads on forums and participating in discussions. But still bloggers feel that they are not able to achieve them.

Many of the bloggers still feel gaps in their knowledge of SEO. Why is it so? Because they have made no personal effort to learn them. I mean they should experiment and try the things they learn. Unless they do, they will surely not make it to the top of the search engines and will give way to spammy sites that are perfectly optimized.

What bloggers need to do is this: spend as much time doing SEO as they spend writing blog posts. SEO is experimenting and learning. Don’t just read on forums. SEO is not stuffing your blog posts with non-competitive keywords researched on the Google AdWords website. Yes, keyword research is needed, but that is not the main part of SEO. SEO is not about posting blog post links on social sites. And there are big arguments about Google going to reduce the effect of social bookmarking sites on Google search engine results. So just don’t focus on social bookmarking.

Wondering what else is SEO? Let me tell you. SEO is about making Google understand that you are capable of giving the web quality and unique posts. It is about making Google understand that your blog is intended for a specific niche and is not a spam blog. This is why a number of webmasters insist that bloggers get relevant links instead of some kind of backlink from a non-relevant blog with a higher page rank.

Just think practically: if you have a celebrity blog, would you link to a sports website? No. You definitely wouldn’t. You could link to another celebrity blog or photo blog or movie website. That’s why I say that SEO is Relevance. Building relevant and quality links makes a good SEO professional. So just starting a blog for money or personal needs, posting 10 stories and starting to use social bookmarking sites aggressively is not SEO. Start thinking from the perspective of Google search engine robots and you can definitely conquer the top SERP positions in your niche. Always make sure you maintain a network with all of your niche bloggers. I have seen people refuse to contact their fellow niche bloggers and ask for a backlink. Networking is very important for bloggers. Just posting quality stories on your blog is not enough. Marketing is essential. Just don’t spam it. That is the most important point that every blogger should keep in mind. Remember that for success you need Patience and nothing else. My best wishes!
