Network Marketing Home Business: Why You Need Direct Response Marketing

To grow your network marketing home business, you need to use all the tools in your arsenal, and direct response marketing is a pretty great tool.

Direct response marketing (although it’s been around for a while) is a buzzword right now and refers to the way a specific marketing campaign elicits a response from the potential customer. That answer is usually to make a purchase or sign up for something.

To see how this works to its full potential, it might be a good idea to look at the medium of television advertising.

Take the shopping channel, for example. They are masters of direct response marketing. They show a clip on let’s say… a platinum and sapphire ring. All the time they have a number flashing at the bottom of the screen.

They will then say that the ring is on a “one time” promotion at 50% off, but only for an allotted period of time. A person who previously liked the ring but was unsure of the price can now justify the purchase.

So they rush to call to make that call. That, in a nutshell, is direct response marketing! Apart from this, the company can quite accurately record the amount of response provided to the advertising campaign.

This is all well and good, but how does this relate to your home network marketing business?

Well, people are naturally curious right! How about you deliver, say, 5000 postcards through mailboxes saying something like “Would you like to earn an extra $400-600 per week? Call this number for more information.”

If you were looking to earn that little bit of extra money per month, you’d call right! This is direct response marketing at its finest, because the way the postcard is worded doesn’t promise you that you’ll be a millionaire if you call the number on the card.

Instead, it makes a statement that is achievable for most people. In fact, it makes a statement that you can imagine making, and that’s important.

The Internet is another surefire way to use direct response marketing methods to build your network marketing business from home. Because if you can write a really good sales page that can motivate people to take action, your action will elicit a response.

It could be buying, for a small fee, an e-book that tells the prospect some juicy insider secrets they might want to know about creating a home business opportunity. This again is smart marketing.

The reason for this is that you not only have the email address of the prospects, because they had to sign up to buy the book, but you also make sure you get traffic from people who are very interested in starting their own MLM business. In effect, you have highly curated, super-hot leads.

There is a saying that “if you want to be poor, market to everyone, if you want to be rich, market to a niche” and nowhere is this more true than with network marketing.

You see, the old way of MLM was to tell everyone about this fantastic business opportunity, like friends, family, strangers, and others. Whereas, in reality, how many of these people were looking for an opportunity to do something else?

The answer is very few. All this does is waste time talking to prospects who weren’t really interested anyway. The other way, and the smart way in my opinion, is to market to those who are actually looking for something more.

Even better, market to those who have been in MLM business before but failed to get their business off the ground. They do not need to be sold all their dreams, because they already know that it is a good business model. Instead, they just need to know how to get it off the ground.

So you see, it’s a proven fact, direct response marketing works! When you learn how to successfully apply this to your home network marketing business, then you’re sure to be on your way to making money.
