The Kindle Cash Machine Part 1: How I went from zero to 1500 sales in 5 months!

Amazon has truly created a publishing revolution with its Kindle platform, according to recent figures from Amazon. For every 100 physical books sold on Amazon, 105 Kindle books are sold. Amazon is estimated to have sold more than 8 million Kindles. That creates an opportunity, because Amazon needs content and a lot. This is how we will start making money using the method I describe below. I went from Zero Sales to 1500 sales in 5 months publishing content for the Amazons Kindle platform.

Amazon has improved the playing field for small publishers (which is you and me) by allowing anyone to publish on Kindle and Create Space (Amazon’s Publish On Demand or POD service) for free, as long as the content is compliant. with its Terms of Service (TOS). That removes all the barriers to desktop publishing that have kept so many people from succeeding.

The traditional route of reaching out to publishers who are often rejected for years is over. This has allowed some people to generate all their income by publishing on Kindle. But most of us may never write a novel.

So this is how we can do it: we will publish non-fiction information products (books) and provide exceptional value and content. At first glance, this may seem a bit different from selling Information Products on eBay. With Kindle, all delivery is done electronically, there are no products to ship. It is a real business and forget it. You can also sell the same content on eBay and deliver it yourself as a physical product.

There are a lot of really HOT markets on Kindle, so we’ll take a look at these, surprisingly “Make Money Online” products are NOT great sellers so it may be best to stay away from them, at least in the beginning until we know to. properly market our other products.

WHAT TO PUBLISH

We’re publishing our own range of books on Kindle and elsewhere, so we need content, so we have four options:

  • Write it ourselves, it takes a long time and some would say it’s tedious and what if you feel like you can’t write (actually, we all can)
  • Get your ghost book written for you, you can use a service like e-lance, The Warrior Forum, or Student Gems to find a worker to do it for you. This is an expensive option and you will need to provide a very strict specification for the job.
  • Use public domain content: There is a good chance popular content is already on Kindle, but there is a lot of public domain content that has yet to be exploited. I have a strategy to get public domain works accepted for Kindle. EVEN if it is already for sale on the site
  • Compile your book from PLR (Private Label Rights) materials, this is a great option, but you will need to approach this in the right way, otherwise your books will be rejected by Amazon

What we must always remember is that Kindle Publishing is a numbers game and we need to have a lot of content.

In The Kindle Cash Machine Part 2, we’ll take a look at the best sources for free and paid content to help you compile a wide range of books in different subject areas.
