The main benefits of water

Consumer habits are what make or break us in terms of our health and weight. That’s why you should try to develop healthy eating habits as early in life as possible. One of the most beneficial daily intakes is water.

Water is the main component of our bodies: our bodies are made up of 70% water. Knowing this, one can see how important it is to provide our body with a substantial amount of water per day. It is recommended to drink between 8 and 10 glasses of water a day. It may seem excessive, but we lose water throughout the day when we sweat, breathe, and urinate. If we don’t drink enough water, we can become dehydrated. Since our lungs need moisture to function, we cannot breathe properly if we are dehydrated. Dehydration also causes headaches and feelings of dizziness. Not consuming enough water every day also leads to excess body fat and poor muscle tone.

Drinks to avoid

Drinks to avoid include all those that contain excessive amounts of sugar. Sugar equals calories, and if we can’t burn these calories throughout the day, they turn into fat cells resulting in weight gain. Here is a list of drinks to avoid:

  • drinks without alcohol
  • Energy drinks
  • slurpees
  • Frappuccinos

Beverages that should be consumed in moderation include alcoholic and caffeinated beverages (for example, coffee and soft drinks). You might think that these drinks contain water, so they quench your thirst. In fact, these drinks speed up the elimination of fluids from the body, which can lead to dehydration.

For those who don’t like water

If you avoid water due to lack of taste, odor, or off-taste, then:

-Drink bottled spring water. There are many different brands to choose from and these waters do not have a strange smell or taste. A good tip for choosing a brand of water: Check the TDS of bottled water. TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids. So this is the amount of non-aqueous substances in the water. Choose the water brand with the lowest TDS.

-Add some natural citrus to your water. For example, a few slices of lemon or lime make the water taste very refreshing and tasty.

Water is extremely beneficial for any weight loss plan and helps detoxify the body. Water can also reduce the appearance of cellulite. So, in conclusion, water is of paramount importance in all areas of life and should be consumed in abundance.
