A Brief History of Pringles and Enchiladas

Pringles is a famous brand of potato chips and rice flour produced and marketed by Procter and Gamble. While the enchilada is a pure corn tortilla rolled around meat and cheese. It can also be eaten with chili sauce dressing, onions, cheese, sour cream, beans, or nacho cheese.

Pringles potato chips are available in an aluminum can bearing the brand’s logo of a cartoon character with a large bushy mustache. The enchilada can be made with a wide variety of ingredients that can be chicken, steak, fish with a variety of cheeses, beans or vegetables. It is an extremely versatile dish and many find it tasty. The Pringles can is specially designed because the potato chips are quite fragile and cannot be packed in paper or plastic bags for normal potato chip packaging.

French fries are a fairly new culinary invention. However, people believe that enchiladas come from the Mayans. The dish was first associated with the Yucatan region of Mexico in pre-Columbian times. Throughout the centuries after, Mexicans continued to enjoy the enchilada and it can be found in a wide variety of cookbooks dating back to the first Mexican cookbook to be published in 1831 called El Cocinero Mexicano or The Mexican Chef. On the other hand, new machinery and techniques are required for the production of Pringles. They have a less harsh taste than regular potato chips and P&G market research suggested that Pringles are much easier to eat.

An American chef, George Speck, was the first to make french fries in 1853. He had prepared a plate of fries for a diner who sent them back complaining that they were too thick and probably the worst fries a chef could make. Although Speck decided to teach the diner a lesson by making the fries worse, his next attempt to make the fries worse turned out to be such a success that he delighted the diner and soon the entire restaurant was requesting George’s new fries.

Today, the enchilada has earned open praise from many foodies around the world with the internationalization of food. Most chefs are always willing to search for the best foods from each culture to share with their friends and clients.

Today Pringles are known as the favorite potato chips and are available in different flavors including Original, Sour Cream and Onion, Cheese, Hot and Spicy, Cheese and Onion, BBQ and most recently Shrimp Cocktail. Pringles is one of the tastiest potato chip brands in the world and we can look forward to seeing the enchilada in our neighborhood served up in its many forms.
