Alpe Ciamporino from San Domenico Di Varzo – Italy

Alpe Ciamporino is located in the Lepontine Alps by San Domenico di Varzo, north of Piedmont in Italy. The resort is located on the left side of the Cairasca Valley and can be accessed via chair lifts from San Domenico. The ski resort rises to 1,420 meters of altitude and the highest peak reaches 2,500 meters. Alpe Ciamporino contains one green run, one blue run, five red runs and four black runs. It is served by three chair lifts and three T-lifts or plate lifts. During the summer season, the station becomes the starting point for alpine hiking going to Alpe Veglia, Alpe Devero and Alpe Solcio.

Alpe Ciamporino is located in Italy and there are some nearby air terminals that could serve as a starting point for heading to the resort. You can choose any alternative flight from the airport:

From the airport, you can take transfers by taxi, coach, bus, car rental, or the train to take you to San Domenico. From Switzerland, you can reach San Domenico di Varzo by following the routes from Basel to Bern via Friborg, Vevey and Sion until you reach Brig and pass the Simplon Pass. From there, it’s a 30-kilometer drive to San Domenico. If you are from the Swiss area and want to use the automatic train, you will have to travel on one that passes Kandersteg – Goppenstein and then Brig to the station at the Simplon pass. You can choose to get off there and take a bus or car to get to San Domenico. From Milan, Varese, Genoa or anywhere in northern Italy, use the A26 motorway and continue until you reach Varzo. From the town of Varzo, go up to the town of San Domenico. Alpe Ciamporino can then be accessed by chair lifts from the village.

Tourist facilities such as hotels, chalets, residences, apartment rentals, restaurants, places to eat, equipment rental shops, pubs and some bars are also available in the area. The complex opens on December 5 and closes on May 5.
