SWTOR Quest Leveling Guide: How To Level This Gathering Skill At 400

In this article, we take a look at the Carrion Gathering Skill and how you can level up and earn some credits from the Galactic Trading Network. Again, as with all collection team skills in SWTOR, there are two ways to level up.

The first is to level up the skill as you go from planet to planet doing your missions. If you are completing missions anyway, this is the best way to level skills simply because it won’t cost you any credits.

However, if you are already at a certain level and in the middle of the game and have just acquired a skill, you may not want to have to go back to the starting planets. If this is the case, you can send your partner and other crew members on search missions and they will deliver the rewards to you.

The only downside to this is that it will cost a lot of credits, but you will get back materials that you can sell on the Galactic Trade Network for a profit.

Here is a summary of how the Scavenging skill can be leveled using the crew skill missions:

Gathering levels 1-100

You can get to level 100 quite easily through the crew skills missions and all you need to do is send your crew members for each mission. At this point, you will get mostly Grade 1 materials in return.

These materials include:

Silica

Desh

Laminiod

Aluminum

These materials can be sold on GTN (Galactic Trade Network) and you will find that Silica and Desh sell very well, but at this stage you will not make a fortune!

To complete the missions and reach level 100 in Scavenging you will need about 15,000 credits.

Sweep levels 100-200

The same plan for levels 100-200 just send your crew members on missions. You will notice that the mission costs increase and you will need around 25,000 credits to get this ability up to 200. The good news is that the materials you get will be Grade 2 and these will be sold for more credits.

The materials that will be rewarded at this stage will be:

Plastoid

Broncio

Chanlon

Plasteel

You may also be lucky enough to get some grade 3 quest items at this point, which are:

Lacqueras

Phobio

Sweep levels 200-300

When you send your crew members on missions, you will find that the time it takes to complete each mission is much longer than previous levels. You will also need around 50,000 credits if you are going to level up to 300 using the crew skill missions.

Again, the materials you recover will be of better quality and this time you can expect to collect:

Bondite

Fibermesh

Resinite

Diatio

The above items are grade 4 recovery materials and at this stage you can also get some grade 5 materials which are:

Electrum

Polyplast

Amorphous carbonite

Neutronium

Sweep levels 300-400

You’re almost there! All you need now is 75,000 credits if you want to level up to 400 right now. You’ll also notice that the time it takes to level up this crew skill is roughly 30 minutes per mission, so it really takes a long time.

However, remember that time will run even when you have logged out of the game so that you can send your partner on a mission and log out, then you can collect the materials the next time you log in.

You will mainly get grade 5 items as listed above, but you will also get higher level grade 6 make-up items at this point, which are:

Zal Alloy

Durasteel

These materials are grade 6 and for best results you can move to GTN and sell them for big profit. Just make sure the market isn’t too crowded when listing your items.

There you have it!

You will now be at level 400 in Scavenging!

Leveling trash from the planets

If you don’t want to have to spend all these credits and want to level up Scavenging by going to the planets and collecting the items, I’ll give you a rundown of where you should be for each level:

Harvest by Harvest – Levels 1-75

You should head to Dromund Kaas if you are Empire or Coruscant if you are Republic to level up this skill to 75. All you need to do is make sure that you have clicked on the resources tab on the map and you will see a lot of nodes here. !

In fact, you can get to level 100 if you want from these two planets.

Harvest by Harvest – Levels 75-175

You should now head to Taris to get to 125. The only reason you are doing this is because the nodes seem to be a bit higher level and it will be easier for you to level up than to stay on the starting planets.

Typically you will find that you run out of nodes in Taris or are too low level to be of use and when this happens you should head to Nar Shaddaa. Then you can get to level 175 with ease and all you need to do is run laps around the Red Light District where you do your first few missions and that should level up quickly.

Harvest by Harvest – Levels 175-250

Next, you should go to Tattooine; Now again you can activate the Resources tab on your map, but one thing you will notice about this planet is the size! In short, if you want to gather nodes here for Scavenging, you need to make sure you have a slider.

If you don’t, I recommend that you try to level up to 250 using your mission skills like in the guide above.

Harvest by Harvest – Levels 250-300

Now to get to 300 you need to head to Balmorra and things are not too complicated here, just more of the same. You should aim to level up to 300 here and then you can complete the last 100 levels. If you have a speeder, it won’t take you long to level up to 300 in Balmorra.

Harvest by Harvest – Levels 300-400

You’re almost there!

Depending on which side you play on, you will need to head to Corellia or Ilum. Now, these are level 50 planets and that is why the mobs that you will find here will be quite difficult. Another annoying aspect is that they always seem to be around the nodes that you are trying to get as well!

However, you should send them quickly at this point and gather your resources. You can also do a little gathering and some missions where you send your crew members to speed this up.

Once you’ve hit 400, you’ve done it!

Congratulations, you’ve now maxed out the sweep crew’s skill!
