It is a big, beautiful and exciting country. Its beauty cannot be found anywhere else. It has a diverse range of natural resources and is home to the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. It also has the deepest lake in Africa, Lake Tanganyika, and the second largest lake in the world, Lake Victoria. Here is the source of the Nile, the longest river in Africa, Lake Victoria. It has the most famous game parks in the world. These include the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, Lake Manyara and the less frequented Selous, Ruaha, Mikumi and Gombe.

About a quarter of the entire country has been set aside for wildlife. This is a very diverse and large area just for this purpose. This land has been turned into game parks and national parks. The remains of early man are also found here in the Olduvai Gorge near Ngorongoro. These remains are dated to about 3.5 million years ago. Tanzania has a coastline that is 800 km long. It has famous islands like Pemba, Zanzibar and Mafia. These house very luxurious beaches.

Tanzania helps to get the real feeling of life in the African jungle. Spending time in the vast game reserves will give you a thrill you can’t experience anywhere else. If you visit in the months of June to August, you can catch the excitement in the Serengeti as you watch the zebras and wildebeests migrate to the Masai Mara in Kenya. The excitement is contagious as you watch the beasts fight for their lives in the river as thousands drown and others are killed by crocodiles, lions and hyenas that take advantage of the situation.
